We are late with the trailer. None the less it is still out and worth watching.

I am particularly interested in how they used a lot of sound bytes from RA2. And no one can forget Hells March. Rules hard.

I just wanted to make a shout out to our newer members. I see a lot of you sign up and none of you post. I check the boards every day and watch for new posts. I want to stress not to be afraid of posting we are all really nice and a lot of the staff read every day. But there is not much to discuss as there arent very many new posts by members other an admins. So just to say it again get out there and make some posts. Doesnt hurt to discuss the game before it comes out and fantasize about what would make it the perfect game.

What was behind the decision to slow gameplay?

With Red Alert 3 we’re designing the gameplay to be a lot more deliberate and measured. We’ re shooting for average matches of 20-30 minutes and want to make sure that a lot of the unit spamming tactics, particularly the early game rushes of C&C3, are less viable. Games between experienced RA3 players will tend to go to the player who makes good use of force composition and unit micro, not the guy who can build the biggest scrum of tanks. The trick with this, and so far I think we’re doing a pretty good job of it, is to accomplish these goals without slowing the game down too much. Don’t worry – you’ ll find that Red Alert 3 games are plenty fast, and they’re certainly fun.

I just wanted to dash in and give a quick update. As a lot of the RA3 thunder has cooled off while we wait to be included in the beta test. I just wanted to make sure everyone knew we havent got anywhere. As soon as there is some new and fresh content we will have it up. I am going to be writing a strategy guide for the Kanes Wrath missions in the upcoming weeks and try to make it as easy to follow as possible. I am noticing going through the missions on medium and playing them for perfection that there are some tough things to do and a few things I have yet to figure out. So once I get all of that worked out I will start posting the first few missions.

Just a heads up to watch out for. I will also note that these will be the first advantage of the cash mod we have on the forums. You will need cash to buy missions. I think that will give it a cool effect.

I hope you all have been busy with Kanes Wrath like I have. I have been trying to get a good grasp on the storyline as I didnt play the full Nod campaign on the first CNC3. None the less, I am enjoying Kanes Wrath a lot. With that said those of you that preordered it if you havent signed up for the Red Alert 3 Beta you should or give your key to someone that wants to.

Heres how:

Go go http://www.ea.com/redalert3beta/index.jsp and either login or create an EA account make sure you use an email you check often. Or you wont receive your email to download the beta and then finally input your beta key.

There are also 3 new screenshots on that page which will be added to our screenshot database.

I found a video interview over at PC Games. This interview gives some really good insight into the storyline and how the game is going be setup. With some descriptions of the factions and more.

Here are some notes:

- The storyline of the game starts with the Kremlin erasing Einstein from the timeline.

- The Empire faction is the most futureristic of the factions.

- A completely cooperative campaign is confirmed.

- Naval is going to be a very large factor.

- Cinematics are going to focused on.

- There is a completely new graphics engine that will utilize multicore graphics cards and cpu's much better.

- Water based resource collection.

- Dogs are back.

- Dolphins are back.

- There will be an improved AI.

It seems the team is on the interview trail. So here is the GameSpot intverview which can be read here. Now here is an excerpt:

GS AU: Will the three versions be different from one another in any way? Are you planning any exclusive features for the three versions?

CC: We aren't getting into too many specifics about the console version of Red Alert 3 right now, other than to say we are continuing to work on improving the RTS interface. Stay tuned for more information soon.

IGN: Red Alert 3 was recently revealed. It's been a while since the last one, hasn't it?

Chris Corry: There actually hasn't been a Red Alert game for a little while now; it's been seven years. It's kind of interesting reintroducing the world to Red Alert. For those who are already familiar with Red Alert games and their place in the C&C universe, certainly Red Alert 3 is going to be everything that the hardcore fans have been looking for. It's going to have that trademark, light, humorous, fun, Saturday matinee popcorn feel to it, with live-action cinematics and all these great actors chewing up the stage.
